2. Awesome Neighborhoods

When it comes to vibrant, eclectic neighborhoods, LA proper and the Greater LA area have so much to offer. Finding the right community to fit one’s niche will be effortless. Whether you’re looking for quiet family-friendly neighborhoods like Silver Lake and South Pasadena or hip neighborhoods like Culver City and Venice with its Bohemian vibe, LA has an array of communities that will fit any need.

3. Cultural Diversity

LA is home to over 4 million people (and 18 million in the Greater Los Angeles area), and it should come as no surprise that its population is just as diverse as it is large. Just 2 hours away from the Mexican border, LA’s largest demographic is Latino people, who make up 48.2% of the population. The second largest racial group is White people, making up 28.3% of the population.

LA also boasts a sizable Asian community that makes up 14% of the population and Black or African Americans make up 7.9%. Los Angeles also achieved a diversity score of 95 out of 100 on the latest census, making it one of the most diverse cities in the nation.

4. More to Do

The City of Angels is known for its role as an entertainment hub, but its reputation isn’t limited to the film industry alone. If you’re in search of a place that offers infinite options for recreation, prepare to never get bored. There are endless shops to visit in LA. The Grove between 3rd Street and Fairfax is an open-air market with 50 top-brand shops. Adjacent to the Grove is the Original Farmers Market where you can stock up on fresh produce and grab a bite at one of the many food stalls.

Watch a movie in one of the many parks, or if you’re in the mood for a unique experience, the Hollywood cemetery. Take the whole family to Disneyland or Universal Studios theme park. Skate around Venice beach or visit Malibu beach and just relax. Or if you prefer to find excitement outside of the urban expanse, you’re covered as well. Situated between a vast coastline and densely forested mountains, the great outdoors of the LA area can satiate your thirst for adventure, no matter your taste.

5. Employment Opportunities

When most people think of LA, Hollywood and the entertainment industry are the first employment sectors that come to mind. But you may be surprised to learn that “the industry,” as it’s locally known, makes up only a small percentage of the job market. Some examples of fields with job opportunities include: engineering, food service, biotechnology, and start – ups. Though the jobless rate has taken a hit since the pandemic, LA added 42,8000 more jobs in November 2021. An average salary in LA is $50,000 – $60,000 per year.
